Ask:
many great films in 2008, both on DVD and in the movies. I'm struggling to pick a best one, but I'm wondering which was yours and why?

solution:
1:Best Drama: Gran Torino and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Best Action: Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Quantum of Solace, Eagle Eye and Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Indy wasn't great but I still liked it.)Best Comedy: Pineapple Express, Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Tropic ThunderBest Animation: Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda.Source(s):I can't think of any others, though i am probably missing a lot.

2:It gotta be Twilight, i mean i went and saw it 4 times at the movies.Even thought it didn't have every important scene from the book, it was still executed very well. The acting from the whole cast, specially Bella and the Cullen family was just perfect. If your into the romantic yet at the same time a bit of a thriller this movie pretty good. It's more better if you have read the book because you can understand the little things like why the character does a particular look in a scene that mayb da movie hasn't explained.I know that the DVD is gonna have some pretty good special features from the movie dat hasn't been released anywhere, so da dvd should b gud 2!

There weren't many utterly outstanding movies in '08, but for sure some of my favourites were:-Twilight: because I'm a massive fan and it was breathtaking seeing the book and story you pictured in your head coming to life.
-The Dark Knight: Heath Ledger's acting was outstanding, and it was quite a captivating film...
-Australia: Although it was quite long and tedious at times, it was quite interesting :)
and considering I live in Australia, this movie came out on Jan 1st of this year...but I guess it could be considered an '08 movie for everyone else...
-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: Although the old lady listening to the story was getting on my nerves at one point, and it was a bit too long; Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchette did a fantastic job :) I loved the movie, especially because a lot of my life I've actually been wondering what it would be like to age backwards :)
and let's not forget Wall-E: That was the cutest cartoon I have ever seen, it actually had me in tears at some parts...and I think that it was a fantastic way to let the younger generation know just what we're doing to our planet, and where we're all heading as a society...

even though i technically saw it several days ago, i have to count benjamin button, it had so many gorgeous messages to it. Its been nearly half a week and i still can't get it off my mind.

The dark knight was superbly done, Christopher Nolan not only challenged the way films were put together (he used Imax cameras for most of it, that's never been done before) and heath ledger put in such a terrific perfomance. Many will say he gave his life to that role, he put so much into it it destroyed him (and don't say otherwise, because if you truly know what being an actor is about you will realise what he did)

Quantum of Solace was good, but not entirely memorable, unlike the others.

Also Across the Universe (i loved the simple message at the end, and the way it honored the beatles and what they had been doing during those devestating years)

And one more: Be Kind Rewind. A brilliant gem of comedy and a slight hint of sentimentality
